I took a few practice tests and found out that my math was terrible. I need to improve on everything.

What is the best book that will teach me how to do these problems?

What book should I start with?

I am planning on taking the GMAT in 5-6 months and would like to start studying now, about 1-2 hours a day.

Where should I start?

yea don't worry. my quant was complete shite first time round.

I suggest doing OG11 (official guide) for starters.

The questions are split by difficulty level, so questions 1 - 30 should be fairly easy questions and then you can move on to the medium ones from 40 - 80 and the last couple of questions should be around 600ish level.

honestly, you can also go for Kaplan's quant workbook, which some say is very good, but my honest opinion is that you need to work on your basics and the best book for that is really the OG.

once you're done with the OG you can move onto computer tests like gmatclubtests, which is fairly advanced level math - if you score like a 45ish on those you're pretty much guaranteed a great score (think 50 on a good day) for the gmat.

I started with Princeton review, Kaplan 2009 premier book, OG11, OG math book, kaplan 800 book.try practice tests
