First of all, it is never "too" early for you to start preparing for GMAT and taking it (now that you have 2 yrs of experience)- start studying for it and take it. See how you score, that gives you time to see if you need to take it again. There is no penalty for retaking GMAT and schools take the highest of the scores.

If you are applying to US schools - you will need to work your way backward. You should be applying one year before the "fall - semester" - so if you start studying for GMAT now and take it in summer, you can start applying to schools by July/August 2012 to start in August 2013. By then you will have 3.5 yrs of experience. If you have worked for a well known company an IT Consultant, then this WE is fine. However, if you've worked in Industry then you are better off waiting another year and then starting the application process - but GMAT you can take it this year. GMAT scores are valid upto 5 yrs.

As was previously mentioned, it is never too early to start thinking about taking the GMAT. If you take the GMAT and are happy with your score, you have five years to apply to schools before your score is no longer considered valid. One thing to consider is the fact that the GMAT will be changing on June 5, 2012. It is impossible to tell at this time what that means for the scores for those taking the test after that time, but it is something to consider.

I'd probably say take it before June, but it depends on if you're interested in applying to schools for Fall 2013 or planning on waiting a bit longer. Two years of work experience will put you at the lower end of most application pools, so maybe waiting another year may be in your best interest (but if you do really well on the GMAT, it may not matter).

Could anyone pls help me on this. I want to apply for fall 2013. I have 3.5 yrs of exp as of now.

I havent started preparing for my gmat yet. Im planning to give it by Aug/Sep with the new pattern.Would it be to too late for me to apply for fall 2013? If yes , could you please let me know when is the latest that I can take my gmat.
