Hi,

I have just started my GMAT preparation, I want to short list my colleges before my exam. So these are my details.

GPA:

M.Tech(PG for 2 years) from KIIT a second tier tech school in India with a 91% (9.1/10). I am the topper of class.
B.Tech(UG for 4 years) from college affilated to JNTU a second tier Univ in India with a 64.5%.
Never failed any course(Will this be use full).

Expreince:
I am an s/w engg with 3 work exp. I worked for Oracle for 2 years and 1 year for cognizant.
The technology is different in both comapnies so want to highlight that as my adoptability.

awards:
Awarded with gold meadel by univ for topping the batch.

I am from a small village in India, So getting educated is a challenge.

I gave a mock gmat test(from manhattan review) i got 590(51Q and 19 V). I will work on verbal to get at least 30. So i am expecting a min score of 600 on my main test(which plan to take in Aug)

With this profile, What kind of schools can I target. What schools I can target if get to 600,650 and 700 on my gmat. I hope that will help me shortlisting the colleges to give on the day of my test.

Dear Srinivasa Raju I,

Ideally, you want to apply to schools where your GMAT is at or above the average. You might still have a chance if your GMAT is below, but close to, the school's average depending on the strength of the rest of your application. Since you are in an over-represented group in the global MBA applicant pool, you definitely need to aim for a GMAT score above the average to be competitive at any school.
