What to do in last two days?

Expert replies
by riteshbindal » Wed Oct 21, 2009 4:59 pm
I am pretty much tensed as my GMAT is on Oct 24th and I am left with very few days. It's not like that I have missed to study something but I am just getting pretty nervous as the days are passing by.
I just started solving a list of SCs which are all from GMAT Prep (almost 180 SCs) and initially while solving them I thought that I have forgot SC as I was missing out on 3 - 4 qs out of 10. But then I realized that initial questions were of highest level and the level started going down. Now, I know the concept of each and every SC in that document because I searched for every question I got wrong.
But still... What to do in last two days?
I am planning to revise my SC notes and error logs, and work on some tough GPREP DS stuff.

My last few scores were:
MGMAT 5 - 750
GPREP 2 - 720
GPREP 1 (Repeat) - 720
GPREP 2 (Repeat) - 750

I am thinking of taking another repeat of just the verbal part of GPREP2. In Quant I am consistently getting 49 - 50 so not worrying much about it.

Any other ideas as what to do in last two days?

Thanks in advance.

hi ritesh,

just try to control your nerves , dnt panic , belive in yourself and your score.

on the test day i will suggest u to keep mummling that i can do it. if a question seems easy before ans think for 10 sc and if difficult then at least 30 sec.IF a q is confusing one then try to guess.

for these two days its better to learn some tricks for correct guessing or eliminating technique.

at the best read the forums article.

hope to hear a good success story from your side.

watch a comedy movie or any inspiring movie.

my point is do what ever u like .

all the best.

if ur on the forums try reading success stories to pep u up. if not, then go thru the BTG flashcards for review. if u don't wanna think abt GMAT for a day, watch a movie. (i saw Shanghai Knights). or just go to sleep and give urself a deserved pre-test rest.

good luck for tomorrow. :)

hey Ritesh, taking tomorrow as well, as I've mentioned to you earlier.

Like you, I'm also feeling the last minute nervousness, and feeling that the rules and structure I've practiced for SC are disappearing, so just need to clear my mind and focused.

I was thinking to do GMATprep2 tonight, but I like your prep more now - doing more verbal since quant is up there. I just make silly math mistakes, so will make sure to pace myself better for tomorrow. I doubt I will do more than one verbal exam though, since I agree with the others that rest is perhaps key.

Anyway, best of luck to you buddy! Let us know how it goes.

Hey mp2437,
I will suggest you to do one thing which I did day before. There is a list of all the questions which have till now appeared on GPREP. Initial 80 qs are very very tough and if you look for their answers on manhattan gmat forum you will get the best explanations out. This will clear and brush up all the concepts which you have learned now.
It increased my confidence level a lot and now I am doing SC as if it is maths problem :D
For quanta, I am in same boat. I also do some silly mistakes. But I have thought that in GMAT, I will just cross check my answer once more before confirming it. I do around 5 - 6 questions wrong and when I look at my mistakes, I realize that out of 6, I knew 5 and all were silly mistakes. Let me know if you need any suggestion.

Hey Ritesh,

All the best...I too am writing tomorrow but aiming for 700. The max score i have reached for prep tests is 720 for GPrep2 repeat. Just curious ...is the document with all the gmat prep questions the "198 Level 700+ questions from GMAT Prep I" that you are referring to? If not can you please share the doc.

Thanks.

Hi mbadreams,

I am not sure about that document. But I am sharing the document which I was talking about i.e. GPSC and GPOA (for answers ofcourse :D ).

There is one more document which I referred to last night along with OG-12. This document has a list of idioms which are tested in OG-11, OG-12 and Verbal review, along with the question numbers.
So don't just go through the idioms. Have a look at the question first, then check what idiom it was trying to test. This way, you can know whether you knew the idiom before hand or not. And if you did it wrong, you can swear not to do it wrong again :)

Guys, my winzip is not working, so I am sending one document in each post. This is the OA for the SCs sent before.

Not able to find those idioms list in my laptop now. I have its hard copy at home. I will check in the hard copy about its details and will try to search it again and post it here. Sorry guys!

For the questions which I got wrong in first 135 from GPSC, I did through research and found why I was wrong in those.
I was noting all the mistakes in a sheet and saved it first when I was at 50. Somehow my system got shut down and couldn't save the mistakes from 50 - 80.

But you can refer to this attached error log instead of searching for those posts which I got wrong. This will save some time of yours.

Guys... I guess I am not going crazy!!! Doing so many uploads in a day! Let me know if this is crazy stuff :o
