What should be my GMAT target?

by darknight » Sun Jul 04, 2010 10:22 pm
Hi,

I know that 700+ is the ideal GMAT score that a prospective MBA student should aspire for. But can this be relaxed a bit for me?

My vital stats are:
Age: between 25-30
Edu: Have attained Masters degree - commerce
Wk Exp: 5 years in business services domain
Citizenship: India
Target MBA Major: Intl. Business / Consulting

Target MBA Prog: IMD, Wharton Lauder program, USC iBEAR, Fletcher School MIB, INSEAD

What GMAT score should I target for?

If you are targeting schools like Insead or IMD, then a 700+ score is always helpful. If you have a score below 700, then you must have an outstanding profile.

As high of a score as you can get.

For Fletcher School MIB - 620-650 should do, given your 5 years of business experience with Masters degree. With 650+ if you apply here in the first round then there is a greater chance of getting a good scholarship from Fletcher..

Thanks for your replies sumanr84, papgust.

Maybe a more appropriate question would be:

what should be my target well-known B-schools with a GMAT score in the range of 600-680 (given my profile in earlier post)?
