Hi,

Request you to evaluate my profile based on the info below and let me know what US schools I can apply to.

GMAT 710 (Q46, V42) after 650 in earlier attempt
Education: Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws (BBA, LL.B 5 year integrated) in a top 10 Law School in India
GPA: 3.5
Work Experience: 4 years in Deloitte (Risk Consulting)
Extra-curriculars - Strong (School Captain, Member Toastmasters, Won several public speaking events etc.)

I had applied to Kelley, Duke and Darden with GMAT 650 and 3 years work ex for their 2014 intake in R2 but got rejected. I want reapply to these schools and other schools for the 2015 intake in R1.
I know its almost impossible to accurately predict my chances based on just this much info, but just want to understand if I stand a good chance for these 3 and what other US schools I can apply to?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Thanks for posting. While it's always tough to assess reasons for rejection particularly in a very short profile summary such as this, you do have respectable grades and extracurricular involvement and work experience at a well-known company.... certainly the 650 GMAT was much lower than the schools averages which you applied to last year. Other q's that would come to mind would be how you presented your professional experience; what accomplishments and impact you've had in your role/s; any leadership skills; how you made your case for your career goals and why you need the MBA; how you demonstrated fit with each school; how your essays presented you.... lots to consider.

But you do have potential and the 710 will help. So think about the q's I raised above and how you'll be sure to address them in the best possible way as you re-apply. And maybe look at other schools in the 20-35 or so ranking/range and apply to another 1-3 as you see fit.

Let us know how else we can help or if you have additional q's!
