1) /x > y ;this tells the answer if x was a +ve integer.but it can be a fration. insuff
2) x^3 > y ; x > y for a fraction but not for an integer; insuff

combining we get that x>y whether a fration or an integer.

ans C

IMO A

Maybe you have to replace X and Y with negative number and fragtion :

1) means X greather than Y^2 right ?
- it means X must be positive number
if X=5 then Y=2 === Correct
X=5 then Y=-2 === also correct

So sufficient

2) means X^3 greather than Y right ?
if X=-2 then Y=-9 === Correct
if X=2 then Y=7 === not correct
so insufficient
