Beat The GMAT is pleased to welcome Amy to the community! Amy is an MBA admissions consultant with Stacy Blackman Consulting; she will be helping Stacy to field your MBA-related questions in this forum.

Here's some information about Amy:

Amy received her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and her BA in History from Reed College.

In addition to her MBA consulting work, Amy works in business strategy in the entertainment industry. In previous roles, Amy formulated marketing strategy for DIRECTV, as well as marketing online video for ESPN while at Wharton. Before attending Wharton, Amy worked on the creative side of television as a producer and editor in New York City. Her television credits include productions for VH1, Comedy Central, NBC, The Food Network and ESPN.

Writing and teaching has been a lifelong interest for Amy. She has written professionally both for television and print. Her writing has been published in Nylon Magazine and the design and culture magazine, Plazm. Amy’s writing career continued at Wharton where she entertained the whole school as a Wharton Follies Head Writer. Amy spent her last year at Wharton teaching two classes of Wharton undergraduates in the Marketing 101 course, which allowed her to become an expert at communicating feedback and mentoring. Amy also mentored fellow Wharton students in the pursuit of their academic and career goals as the president of the Wharton Media and Entertainment Club and as a mock interviewer for Wharton Career Management.

Alumni volunteer activities are important to Amy, and she has served both her undergraduate and graduate alumni community. Amy was the president of the Reed College Alumni Association’s New York City chapter from 2001-2004, and was successful in marketing alumni events and increasing alumni attendance over 300%. Amy currently interviews prospective students for both Reed College and the Wharton School.

Please help me in welcoming Amy!
