Mice that have been given morphine are very likely to develop blood poisoning because bacteria that normally reside in the intestine typically respond to morphine by migrating into the bloodstream. However, when mice are given both morphine and the new drug naltrexone, blood poisoning is much less frequent, although it does still occur. These results provide support for researchers’ prediction that naltrexone will turn out to be toxic to certain types of bacteria.
Which of the following, if discovered to be true, would most seriously weaken the support for the researchers’ prediction?

A. After being administered to mice, naltrexone does not pass from the bloodstream into the intestine.
B. Naltrexone inhibits morphine from triggering the migration of intestinal bacteria into the bloodstream.
C.Mice that have been given naltrexone but not morphine have no greater risk of developing blood poisoning than do mice that have not been given either substance.
D. The increased risk of blood poisoning is not the only harmful effect on mice of being given morphine.
E.Conditions other than the presence of intestinal bacteria in the bloodstream can cause blood poisoning in mice

A - don't care about naltrexone in the bloodstream
C - doesn't weaken
D - out of scope
E - out of scope

B is a possibility. If Naltrexone inhibits morphine from triggering the
migration, the bacteria could very well be in the intestine.

I think the answer to this is B. Based on the statement it seems that the Naltrexone has more of an affect on morphine than on bactreia which would weaken the researchers conclusion that Naltrexone would be toxic to bacteria.

The answer is E.

Because:

A is irrelevant
B supports the conclusion
C irrelevant as it doesn't deal with the morphine case
D irrelevant
E is the correct answer as it says there can be other reasons of blood poisoning and if this is true naltrexone may subside those causes of blood poisoning and hence reduces poisoning. Because of this, it cannot be concluded that it is fatal to bacteria.

Plz tell me if anybody disagree.

Looks B ..Hey hedo..... i think b in no way supports the conclusion as Conclusion says that the naltrexone works by acting on bacteria but B says naltrexone works by acting on morphine ...

So B is the answer

I don't understand how the answer is B to this question. (https://gmatclub.com/forum/cr-gmat-set-72808.html)

If B is correct then Naltrexone inhibits morphine all the time. However, as per the passage naltrexone with morphine developes blood poisoning much less frequent.

Can someone explain me how to eliminate C
