Am I 40 now?

(1) I was 5/4 my wife's age 2 years ago, who will be of my present age 7 years hence.

(2) My wife will be 40 in another 10 years from now and we'll celebrate her 40th birthday and my retirement party, the same day.

IMO A

1) 5/4(w -2) = m -2

m = w +7

Sufficient

2) w + 10 = 40
w = 30

it only talks about retirement age ...which can be any age ..depends on the country...

Insufficient

1) N = Husband's Age Today
W = Wife's Age today

W = N - 7

Husband's current age = N-2 = 5/4 (W-2)
= N-2 = 5/4 (N-7-2)
= -1/4N = -37/4
= 37 Years old
Wife's Current Age = 37-7 = 30 Years old (checks out with statement 2 as well: 30 + 10yrs = 40)

Husband is 37 years old, SUFFICIENT



2) We do not now an official retirement age, nor do we have any information to gauge their ages relative to eachother so this is insufficient. Though, according to statement 1 he would be retiring at 47 if I'm right...lucky guy.

My answer is A.
