wait for my green card or not for MBA

by deeptideepti » Wed Jun 22, 2011 10:59 pm
I am an engineer. I want to go for a MBA to break into management consulting or banking. I realize that consulting is easier to break into than banking.
I am turning 29 soon and I will be 29 if I apply this year for a full-time MBA starting in August/September 2012.
I will be 30 if I go for a full-time MBA in 2013.

Does age matter? The reason I ask this is because if I wait for another year or two, I will be a permanent resident of the US. This allows me to be able to go to school full-time without a visa and it gives me flexibility in looking for jobs post-MBA.

If I want to get a MBA before I become a permanent resident, I need to either go for a part-time MBA or abandon my green card process and go full-time on a student visa. After graduating on a student visa, I will need to find a job soon with an employer who is willing to sponsor my work visa.

I am fine with waiting for a year or two if 30/31 is not too old for a FT MBA.
