w can be 9 or 1/3

Clearly A isn't enough for the same reasons mentioned above.
But I didn't get B as enough either, because I didn't read "2w is an even number" as "2w is an even integer".
So my question is, are we assuming that 2w is an even integer to get B as the answer?

stmt2 tell us 2w is an even integer.

2w can be 2,4,6,8,10............

2w is a multiple of 2........

-->2w=2a where a is an integer

w=a.since a is an integer,w also an integer.



Also note 2w can be an even integer only when w is an integer.

So this statement alone is sufficient.,

IMO B.

Actually odd/even numbers are defined only for integers and not for fractions.

Examples of even numbers are −4, 8, 0, and 22. Examples of odd numbers are −5, 9, 3, and 151. This classification only applies to integers, i.e., a fractional number like 1/2 or 4.201 is neither even nor odd.
