Plug in some values and check

Case - I

Let profit = 8 ( LCM of 1/2 and 1/4 )
Company’s founder got = 4 , amount left is = 4
Each partner got = 1 ( i,e 1/8th of total Profit )

Case - II

Let profit = 16
Company’s founder got = 8 , amount left is = 8
Each partner got = 2 ( i,e 1/8th of total Profit )

Solution:

The founder received q/2 of the profit, and the remaining q/2 was divided among the four partners. Each partner received:

(q/2) / 4 = q/8 dollars in profit.
