Say Jason is J years and Allison is A years old.

We have to get the value of J – A.

Let's take each statement one by one.

(1) Jason is 6 years older than twice David’s age.

J = 2D + 6. However, we can't get the value of J – A. Insufficient.

(2) In 8 years, Allison will be twice as old as David is now.

A + 8 = 2D. However, we can't get the value of J – A. Insufficient.

From J = 2D + 6 and A + 8 = 2D, we get J – A = 14. Suffcient.

The correct answer: C

Hope this helps!
