Question on GMAT Exam

Hey there,

I took the gmat this past week and scored a 660. However, the Analysis of an Issue essay is where I screwed up. I wrote the essay down and was in the middle of proof reading, when at about 30 seconds to go, I noticed a glaring spelling error and was correcting it. As I was correcting it, another pop-up dispalyed and click Ok to continue.

My question - Will my second essay be submitted? If not, does it matter to schools if my writing assignment scores suck? Would schools consider only the 660? Should I retake the gmat?

Well it does matter thats the only reason 2 essays are there ...well it depends with a decent gmat score it wont create a big buff..

Even if u run out of time in essays, they are submitted by default, nothing to worry about.

Even if u run out of time in essays, they are submitted by default, nothing to worry about.

bblast - Are you sure about this? I am in two minds to schedule another exam?

It is true!

Whatever you have on the screen at the time is submitted.

You should only schedule another GMAT if you think that the 660 (a very good score) is low for you. You will get your AWA score in a couple of days and you will see that it certainly did get submitted. And your score will be fine.

Schools look at the score -- mostly to make sure that you did pretty well. A 6.0 will not suddenly make your application look that much better but a 3.0 would make you look much worse. So a decent score is fine.

I only hope that you were not worried about that AWA while you did the part of the test that "counts."
