Hi All,

While revising ManhattanGMAT Prep, I found a question in SC Chapter 1:
Students at carver High school are encouraged to pursue extracurricular activities such as student government, sports, and the arts.

I know article "the" makes things specific. But is it meaningful right to write sentence like this(above one).

Somewhere in my brain it's not accepting because of parallelism .. its too annoying ... Please somebody help me
