To many critics, it seems strange for Ms. Tramonivic, 72, the legendary print and visual artist who almost singlehandedly brought performance art to the general public and to large venues, to be working on a small off-Broadway dance project.

Hi hemant,

I too, in the first instance, eliminated A and D because of the use of 'for'.

But, I was unable to zero in on an option.

I'm unsure about the usage of for, but the best way is to eliminate other options

b.that Ms. Tramonivic, 72, the legendary print and visual artist who almost singlehandedly brought performance art to the general public and large venues, ('to' is missing) be working on a small off Broadway-dance project.

c.that Ms. Tramonivic, ('who' is unnecessary) is 72 and the legendary print and visual artist that almost singlehandedly brought performance art to the general public and large venues, is working on a small off-Broadway dance project.

d.for Ms. Tramonivic, 72, the legendary print and visual artist who almost singlehandedly brought performance art to the general public, to large venues, ( 'and' is not needed) to be working on a small off Broadway dance project.

e.that Ms. Tramonivic, ('who' is unnecessary) is 72 and the legendary print and visual artist who almost singlehandedly brought performance art to the general public and large venues, to be working on a small off-Broadway dance project.

It may seem silly, but can you please tell me why is "who" is unnecessary in option C and E?
I'm no expert, just trying to work on my skills. If I've made any mistakes please bear with me.

I might not be right on the money, but this is my reasoning.

The introduction of 'is' restricts the modifier only to 72. In the other options, '72,' acts as an additional modifier without affecting the performance of the main modifier 'legendary print and.....'.

In C and E the modifier is interrupted by introducing a verb 'is'.
