Useful Links

Hi guys
I found these 2 useful links which explain the use of 'that' vs 'which' and situations in which 'being' can be right.

That vs Which

https://www.sentencecorrection.com/forum ... wtopic=150

Use of Being

https://www.sentencecorrection.com/forum ... wtopic=323

If anyone has any more useful tips or websites please feel free to share. It'll be good if there was one thread for most of the useful tips, it would make things quite systematic.

Thanks for sharing those links.
But I have one confusion regarding usage of pronoun "that"

From what I know pronoun "which" refers to immediate preceding noun, can we assume this when using pronoun "that".
I find it especially confusing when we have "Of" construction, there by subject is little disguised.
For example look at this post
https://www.beatthegmat.com/many-of-them ... t8979.html
the patchwork of green fields that surround
as I understood and also realized that the subject is 'patchwork'
object of preposition "fields" now in this case what does "that" refers to ? "fields"or "patchwork".
My question is can we assume both "that" and "which" refers to immediate preceding noun, only difference being restrictive vs non-restrictive clause ?
