Urgent! 660 Practice Score (44Q 37V). How do I break 700+?

I'm a newcomer here but this seems like an exemplary resource. I wish I had more time to sit down and scour through it all to get the answers and preparation I need. However, I take the test in 17 days and due to the hurried nature of my decision to take the test (long story short...decided pretty late that I wanted to get a Master's in Finance degree and applications are due Feb 2nd and on) I don't necessarily have the time.

I have been preparing using Veritas' resources for the better part of a month now and I took a practice test and scored a 660 (44Q 37V) on it. I am really hoping to get in the 690-720 range. Any advice? I can devote:
1. 4-6 hours on the 11th and 12th
2. 1-2 hours every week day from the 13th to the 27th (day of the test)
3. 3-4 hours every weekend from the 13th to the 27th

How should I devote my time?

Hi Banker14

Sharpen you math skills is a good way to get your desired score. Q44 is not a super high score so u can improve it with not much difficulty ( law of diminishing return)
Review the problems u got wrong and learn the concepts behind each problem.I believe you still miss some concept at Q44 :)
Minimize silly mistakes.

Hope u can break 700 soon :)

Definitely. Any advice on improving quant? Just do more problems? I think I wasn't thinking straight on the Quant section because I went back and looked at some of those problems and they were relatively easy. I shouldn't have missed those. I will probably prep for this upcoming week in a 2:1 quant to verbal ratio and then take another practice test and see where I am.

Hi,

Honestly, I don't know a good way to improve quant at your level. After 1 week of practice, I already got 50 consistently. It's just pure math skill. However I believed that if you already know the concept behind each problem, the thing u need is more practice. If not, u have to come back and learn the concept to avoid " how the heck can I solve this problem" or " I don't know where to start thinking at this problem" ! You do need to come up with a direction immediately after reading the question :)

Definitely. I understand what you mean. I'm going to do tons of problems and examine all my mistakes and such. Should help hopefully. I'm also going to look at the flashcards on this site as well
