that and that for parallelism

only 2 choices left A and E

However much they agree is ok (since the degree is non countable so much is fine here) and also it brings out a better contrast to the statement that follows the comma (it is difficult to find broad support for a movement toward a minimal state) than choice E does

"E" changes meaning....it drops the word "May"....

E doesn't form a complete sentence. Here's how I did it:

Eliminate C, D because we need 'that.' Eliminate E because choice E doesn't form a complete sentence. Choice B is wordy (to the fact). Our answer is thus A.
