two part analysis equation

For each positive integer 'n', the quantity sn(n is lowered down next to s) is defined such that sn + 2 = (Sn)to the second power, - Sn +1. In addition, S2 = 1

In the table, select values for S1 and S4 that are jointly compatible with these conditions.

This is a bit difficult to decipher. Can you take a broader screenshot of the question so we can see how the question writer defined the sequence?
