12. We have the hypotenuse of the 30-60-90 triangle.. so we know that the height of the parallelogram is half the hypotenuse...

So 2*6 = 12

Just to elaborate, the area of a parallelogram is base * height.

We know that the height of the triangle is opposilte the 30 degree angle in the triangle, which means that it's the smallest of the 3 sides. Since a 30/60/90 triangle has an x/xroot3/2x ratio, and the hypotenuse is 4, we can say that 2x = 4, which means that x=2.

So, the height of the parallelogram is 2 and the base is 6.
