The question is what fraction of its leaves would it have lost not what is the fraction of leaves present after the 5th day

Day 1: 1/2
Day2 : 1/4
Day3: 1/8
Day4 : 1/16
Day5: 1/32

Fraction of the leaves remaining after the 5th day is 1/32

There fore fraction of leaves lost is 1-1/32 = 31/32
