translation techniques?

I have listed some of the "translation" questions for which I'm not sure if there is any criteria for solving them.

1) There are three times as many cassettes(C) as compact discs(D). What's the equation in terms of C and D?

2)If she were to buy 6 more stocks(S), she would have twice as many stocks as bonds(B)?. Whats the equation in tersm of S and B?

This is what I think are the answers, but I'm not sure. I was wondering if there is any particular way to attack these translations.

1) 3C= D
2) S+6 = 2B

Ildude, I came up with the same answers: (1) 3c = d, and (2) s + 6 = 2b.

Can you provide them in the context of the problems in which they appear?

for the first statement isn't it 3D=C....you have more cassettes than compact discs. 3 times as many cassettes...hmm...i'm a bit confused...anyone else agree/disagree?
