another rapid method is to test on boundary condition which is x = y, the equation then yields = 5 + 10 = 15, as y > x, the answer will be greater than 15.
Now the max value this equation can yield is 30 only when x / (x +y) OR y / (x + y) ae equal to 1. this is clearly not possible as y > x
hence select 18 as it is between 15 and 30
