I think the answer should be E.

The author concludes that composing rhythms first creates more enjoyable music and this conclusion comes from the point that top selling artists build the rhythm first. So, the author must assume that top selling artists create enjoyable music.

The argument can be broken down as follows:

Musicians typically write lyrics then come up with the rhythm.

Top-selling artists reverse the order.

Concl: Reversing the order leads to more enjoyable music.

What's the assumption here?

That top-selling artists create enjoyable music.

Answer (E)

Could you suggest why B is wrong - is it bcoz "HAVE THE ABILITY TO CREATE" or something else. Would you still select E is B were "Top selling artists create enjoyable music by writing rhythms first than by writing lyrics first" OR B & E BOTH WILL BECOME POTENTIAL ANSWER.

Well Patanjali and neerajkumar, the answer should be E and not B. B is wrong because the conclusion in the stimulus talks about enjoyable music. The most important premise talks about the top selling artists and low recognition artists.

An assumption is a small part that bridges the road between the premise and the conclusion.

That is why the negation technique works in assumption questions...

All this was the supporter assumption model question if explained to you in detail.

let me give u one more example::

Premise : All male citizens of Athens had the right to vote.

Conclusion: Therefore, Socrates had the right to vote in Athens.

Assumption: Socrates was a male citizen of Athens.

Whenever you find something really new in the conclusion that is not listed or mentioned in the preceding premises, then the assumption should be bridging the gap between the new element mentioned in the conclusion and the premise.

This is the defination of the supporter - assumption model...

Hope this helped....

Also try the negation technique in the assumption questions...

when you negate B, the conclusion is not affected.

But when you negate E, the conclusion is affected by a long way...

Hi Patanjali

This could be because of a adjective "more enjoyable". Now in B, Top selling artists have the music to create enjoyable music by writing rhythms first and then by writing lyrics, but at the same time the other artists may have more enjoyable music by the reverse order.
