Hi,

I have a 700+ GMAT score and a Master 's degree from a top US university.
In addition, I have a couple of years of work experience from a Fortune 500 company in US.

I checked the websites of several colleges for TOEFL waiver. Some state that a post graduate degree from any university in US is sufficient to ask for a waiver. However, some like HBS state

"¢Candidates who received their bachelor's degree from a non-English-speaking university are required to take either the Internet-based version of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL IBT) and/or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
"¢Candidates who received a master's or Ph.D. degree from an English-speaking university are strongly encouraged to submit the TOEFL IBT and/or IELTS.

Do I need to make a formal request for TOEFL waiver?
Do top business schools usually grant TOEFL waivers?

I would appreciate your feedback.

Dear mbak2011,

Most business schools would grant you a waiver since you received a degree from a US university. I think you should request a waiver from HBS if you are planning to apply there. HBS might say no, and then you will need to take the TOEFL or IELTS, but HBS might say yes depending on the master's degree you earned.
