TOEFL vs GMAT

by rasha » Tue Jul 07, 2009 6:39 am
Hi all,

This is my first post in this forum. I've been reading it a lot though, Thanks to everyone for the help and experience you share with others

I'm 7 days away from taking the GMAT test. I've been studying hard for about 3 months.

My question is for anyone who has taken both GMAT and TOEFL. I want to take the TOEFL immediately after GMAT, planning to schedule for sometime at the end of this month. I am counting on my studying of the Verbal section to score in TOEFL, however, I haven't seen TOEFL tests before and not planning to before finishing the GMAT.

Is it a wise idea to have only a 2 week gap between GMAT and TOEFL? or is it something that I need to spend more time studying for?

Thanks a lot.

Thanks to anyone who wishes me luck (even in your hearts : :) )

Rasha

In my opinion, (please don't curse if it doesn't turn out well)

it depends on what you wanna get on Toefl, if you are getting above and around 30 on verbal section of the GMAT, you should be more than good enough. Toefl test aren't as hard as GMAT, but it has listening and speaking. If your English is only good on written stuff, it may be hard for you. If you can watch and understand US TV shows with relative ease, it should be a piece of cake.

But by the looks, you should be fine on Toefl, task GMAT's prep test and see what you get.
