timer on test day

hi all

can anyone tell me what the actual timer on test day looks like?

is it just a countdown from 1.15 or does it also tell you how many mins have been used up?

just wondering as different practice tests have different formats for the timers

Hello Nishnosh,
It counts down from 75 minutes. So after the first second passes, you'll see 74:59, then 74:58, etc.. There are no other time indicators to judge your progress -- you just have to be familiar with what question you should be on or around at a certain time marker.

The ones I use for Quant are:
50 minutes left = 12th question
45 minutes left = 15th question
25 minutes left = 25th question
10 minutes left = 33th question

For Verbal:
50 minutes left = 14th question
30 minutes left = 25th question
25 minutes left = 28th question
10 minutes left = 36th question

The official timer you see on test day will be the same as the timer found on the official practice test software (you can download it for free at: https://www.mba.com/the-gmat/download-fr ... n-software). Be sure to familiarize yourself with the interface before test day.
