Q. In one-half the time, A can produce three times as much work as B and B can do in twice the time 1/3 as much work as C. If C does a job in 1 hour, how many hours will it take A to do the same job?

Let job = 6 widgets.
Thus:
C produces 6 widgets in 1 hour.
Since B produces 1/3 of C's work (2 widgets) in twice C's time (2 hours), we get:
B produces 2 widgets in 2 hours.
Since A produces 3 times B's work (6 widgets) in 1/2 B's time (1 hour), we get:
A produces 6 widgets in 1 hour.
Since A's rate = 6 widgets per hour, the time for A to complete the 6-widget job = w/r = 6/6 = 1 hour.

The correct answer is B.
