I think A
if I understood correctly
But I doubt that this is short way.

Three persons
Mr.Cat.
Mrs.Car.
Mr.L.

Mr.Cat. recieved IN ALL 260. From bank and from Mr.L.
Let x be the amount recieved from the bank

(x-20)*3/4 recieved Mrs.Car
(2/3)(x-20)*3/4 - 15) recieved Mr.L
(4/5)((2/3)(x-20)*3/4 - 15)-5) went back to Mr.Cat

So (4/5)((2/3)(x-20)*3/4 - 15)-5) + x = 260
solving we get x=200
2/3((3/4)(200-20)-15) = 80 recieved Mr.L from Mrs.Car

A

OA?

Really time consuming procedure!

IMO D.

I used exactly the same approach used by "4meonly" and I also got 80K as the answer. Since you are saying A is not the answer, I would choose D.

Guys, the answer is D if you consider $260,000 as the initial amount Mr. Cat received.

75% of (260-20)k = $180,000
2/3 of (180 - 15)k = $110,000

The framing of the question seems to be weird.
Whats the source?
