There are three vessels conical,cubical and cylindrical in shape respectively.Conical and cylindrical vessels have same heights but different radii.The liquid from completely filled cubical vessel fills conical vessel completely and 2/3rd of the cylindrical vessel,without any wastage and remainder.Ratio of combined volume of conical and cylindrical vessel to the volume of cubical vessel is 7/6.Then the ratio of volume of conical vessel to that of the cylindrical vessel is ?
A.1:6
B.1:4
C.4:3
D.5:2

let,
Vc= volume of cube
Vco= volume of conical
Vcy= volume of cylindrical

from the statements in the problem
we get,

1) Vc= Vco + 2/3 Vcy

&

2) (Vco + Vcy)/Vc = 7/6

we need the ratio Vco/Vcy


substitute value of Vc from 2 in 1 or vice versa, to eliminate Vc from the equation...

then on solving the equation u get:
6/7(Vco + Vcy) = Vco + 2/3Vcy


and finally:
Vco/Vcy= 4/3

IMO: C
