Option A: Wrong
A weak argument that does not give a difference to the whole statement because it does not seek to give a new meaning to the article.

Option B: Wrong
''greater'' than that of '' means a specific substance is being established here, talking specifically to a person, directed or aimed at a particular nation. Also, ''that'' is used in singular terms herein.

Option C: Wrong
''More than that of'' 'more' herein, is used in comparative capacity but not sufficient in the description of the subject matter as the word ''that'' means a single item according to description.

Option D: Wrong
This is grammatically a weak and incoherent statement. It changes the meaning of the entire sentence thus giving it an undesired meaning.

Option E: Right
The sentence in this option is more apt, concise and grammatically the most appropriate as the head-word ''United States'' is in singular term and is qualified by the adjective ''more'' which seeks to compare.
