40 = (2)(2)(2)(5)
So, the sum of the DISTINCT prime factors = 2 + 5 = 7

Answer: A

Since the distinct prime factors of 40 are 5 and 2, then the "superprime" of 40 is 5 + 2 = 7.

Answer: A
