if we take out the modifier in C does the rest of the sentence make sense?

A transaction? not was a transaction..Please help me understand

the BLAHBLAHBLAH is the predicate and object...

The Story Untold was sold to producers, (a transaction...) is the modifier further explaining about the selling process
