Given that the ratio of two quantities is 2 to 5, say the two quantities are 2x and 5x. Thus, after an increase of 3, we get that the new quantities are (2x + 3) and (5x + 3).

Thus, the new ratio is (2x + 3)/(5x + 3).

We cannot get the unique value of the ratio. Thus, the correct answer is Option E.

We can let 2x and 5x be the two original quantities. Therefore, the ratio of the two new quantities is (2x + 3) / (5x + 3). However, since x can be any (positive) value, there is no way we can determine the new ratio.

Answer: E
