Manhattan GMAT says 'whether' is right and 'whether or not' is suspect. But in saveral sentence correction questions, I have seen a choice as incorrect because the sentence needs 'whether or not' and not simply 'whether'. Therefore I'm not sure what is the correct form of 'whether'. Can I please ask any of the experts to clarify on this?
