Two years later, the average age of the five members will be 22.
If, even after the joining of a sixth member, the average age remains the same then the sixth member's age must also be 22 years.

(C) is the answer.

Illustration:

(A + B + C + D + E)/5 = 20
A + B + C + D + E = 100

Two years later,
[(A+2) + (B+2) + (C+2) + (D+2) + (E+2) + F] / 6 = 22
F = 22 years

The average age of a group of 5 members is 20 years - Age of a group /5 =20 or age of a group=5*20=100

Two years later the same group's age will be Age of a group /5 =20+2 or Age of a group after 2 years is 5*22=110

(age of a group +New member's age)/(5+1)=22

New member's age= 22*6-110=22

Sum for 5 members with an average age of 20 = 5*20 = 100.
Sum for these 5 members 2 years later = 100 + 5(2) = 110.
Sum for 6 members with an average age of 22 = 6*22 = 132.
Age of the 6th member = 132-110 = 22.

If the question is asking for the age of the new member when the new member joins the group, the correct answer is C.
If the question is asking for the age of the new member NOW, the correct answer is A.
