There are 2 primary aspects to succeeding on the quant section.
1) Understanding the all of the concepts tested
2) Using GMAT-specific strategies to apply those concepts to questions

As you might imagine, a solid understanding of the concepts is an absolute prerequisite before you can possibly apply those concepts.

Some materials assume that you already understand the concepts, so they jump right into the application. If you're not 100% sure of the concepts, be sure to find materials cover the concepts in a comprehensive manner.
