Test on Thursday!!

by tfa2mba » Tue Feb 12, 2008 1:02 am
I have been trolling these boards for the last 3 weeks or so and now it is time for me to actually face the music.....

I am taking the test on Thursday at 12:15. I think the pressure is starting to get to me as I have a low GPA and I know that my GMAT is highly important in convincing schools that I can and will do well...

I have scored well on the Manhattan CATS.... scoring 640, 700, 710, and 720, but those are not the real thing.... I feel like the reading comp articles are much less dense (even though the questions seem to be just as difficult)..

Ugg.. enough wasting time.. back to studying..

Any advice on what to study the day before? Also, any one know where to find some really well written AWA essays, as I have not even looked at that section of the test....

Manhattan GMAT tests: 640, 700, 710, and 720, hmm thats interesting!

keep the same flow & you'll get the results.

Last day tips. I think you can refer to Eric's blog and "I just beat the GMAT" section where you'd find a lot of tips.

DONT PANIC! & TAKE SUFFICIENT SLEEP THATS ALL I CAN SAY!

All the best!

I have been preparing for the GMAT for the past 5 + weeks, and tomorrow is the big day..... Well, it was untill I got a call about 5 minutes ago from Pearson Vue informing me that the test will not be administered to me due to recording devices not working....

Obviously, I am pissed. I have been psyching myself up for this test for the past 5 weeks, and I am ready NOW... How is it possible for them to call me less than 24 hours before my test and tell me I will not be taking the test?

Second, I will be in and out of town for the next 2 weeks visiting schools, and writing essays trying to make round 3 deadlines. This puts me in a terrible situation.

Finally, They did not send me an email, just some random call from some woman who did not answer when I called back 5 minutes later. Their business hours are apparently from 8- 5 (except when they are calling to inform me that my test has been cancled at 9:30 at night).

I looked on the test center's site and it says that they will be administering the test tomorrow to me.... I tried to reschedule for another test center tomorrow and it tried to charge me 250 dollars, and I can't call anyone for customer service!!! Ahh.. I am sooooo angry...

I think I plan on showing up tomorrow at my test time... Although not knowing if i will take the test is KILLING ME!

I'm really sorry to hear about your last-minute scheduling issue--a similar thing happened to me when I took the GMAT!

Try to stay positive! You are prepared and ready to kick this test's butt in two weeks if needed!

Good luck!

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm glad you were able to brush off this distraction and succeed in your test. Please consider writing a debriefing of your studies in the 'I just Beat The GMAT' section--we'd love to hear how you did it.
