In a sequence of terms in which each term is three times the previous term, what is the fourth term?

(1) The first term is 3.

(2) The second-to-last term is 310.

(1) The first term is 3.

2nd term is 9
3rd term is 27
4th term is 81

Suff

(2) The second-to-last term is 310.

This is not sufficient because we don't know what term they mean by "second-to-last." You can't assume that this means the 3rd term. Therefore, this is insufficient.
