The table shows the number of shares of each of the 5 stocks owned by Mr.Sami. If Mr. Sami was to sell 20 shares of stock X and buy 24 shares of stock Y, what would be the increase in the range of number of shares of the stock owned by Mr. Sami.

Range is the difference between the largest number of shares and the smallest number of shares.

Currently, the largest is W=112 and the smallest is Z=45.

So, range = 112-45 = 67.

Now, after selling 20 shares of X, number of shares of X becomes 56-20= 36.

And after buying 24 shares of Y, number of shares of Y becomes 94+24= 118.

So, now X and Y are respectively the smallest and largest shares, hence range is their difference.

So, range = Y-X = 118-36 = 82.

So, increase in range = 82-67 = 15.

So, answer is D!
