Switching From Engineering To Finance?

I just graduated in May with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and will pursue an MBA in finance after working for a few years. Currently, I have no experience in the finance industry, but I do have a strong interest. I'm currently unemployed by choice and want to find the best job opportunity to earn as much financial related experience as possible.

What kind of jobs are out there that will give me B school worthy finance experience for an engineering major like myself?

I think you may start with banking industry... it may not be exactly finance job.. but something closer...

I know some people who have extensive engg back ground, have joined well known banks.. .the job involved is to evaluate projects from a strategic view point and make a recommendation whether to fund such projects or not...

MBA vs Analyst

Anyways, alot of guys in my analyst class were engineers. A few new Associates (post-MBA) had engineering backgrounds as well, you should be fine assuming you go to a "target school"
