For me, "is" and "when" are missing words

Sorry this is supposed to be a sentence correction questions wrong forum

IMO D, "when" is the correct usage here. between B and D, I will go with "formed" rather than "created" in this sentence

D,E is incorrect as it forms fragments
A is incorrect, wrong idiom from ... and...
C is incorrect,
IMO B : But it drops out some info so not a strong contender but no other choices are good enough and grammatically correct.

OA B, though its missing some words out, its the only one with the correct grammar construction. It connects the first and the last so well.

'when' should be used instead of from. eliminating a,e
c) incorrect because of 'and'
doubt between B&D but 'is' is missing in D
Thus IMO B

I think I am reading from school that sulfer and oxygen combine to "form" sulpherdioxide. 'Creation' is like hurting me here.
Smelling of rotten eggs == Sulferdioxide.. this is ackward...

Can you kindly ping Brian@Veritas for this as you mentioned the source is Veritas... I am doubting this question.

There is not a typo. This is what is mentioned in the material. Even I had the same doubt.

agree with you,when I first went through option B, I kept it aside because of the word "created"

Is it ok to omit "formed in smokestacks" in answer choice B???

What's the issue in case created is used in place of formed.
We can eliminate all the other options because of some or the other reason.
And even using created doesn't change the meaning of the sentence, therefore i feel there should not be any problem using it.
Can we have expert comments please.

Can you please explain why exactly is D wrong,though I feel that if in D preposition "is" would have been there then it would have been the best choice out of 5 but now also whats exactly wrong with option D.....

I think above part in Green is acting as a modifier and modifies sulfur dioxide.............somebody in the above post mentioned that D is having fragments and is therefore, wrong but I am confused on the same as I don't find any issue related to the fragmentization..........
