Thanks for your post. Without reviewing your essays, it's a bit difficult for me to assess the true reason you have been waitlisted. Typically applicants are waitlisted for one of two reasons - the first is there is a flaw or a weaknesses that needs to be addressed. This can be anything from vague goals to a low GMAT score. Typically adcoms expect applicants to pick up on these issues themselves and address them accordingly. The second main reason applicants are waitlisted is the most difficult - for no real reason other than they have a large applicant pool. Sometimes adcoms waitlist perfectly great candidates simply due to capacity issues or a failure on the applicants part to truly stand out in the applicant pool. When this is the case waiting is often the only thing to proactively do.

It's always best to respect the waitlist policy of the school. Some schools have a no contact policy, while others are open to receiving additional information and even go as far as offering specific feedback.

The best place for you to start is to look at your essays. You seem like a solid candidate in terms of academics and professional experience. Perhaps your goals essay wasn't as direct as it could be. Or perhaps you had a weak example/topic in another essay. The ability to be introspective and figure this out will help you figure out your approach in this situation. Lastly, you could always send your application to a consultant and get a detailed analysis as well as strategic advice on how to manage the waitlist process.
