I know it is a big decision to go for an MBA abroad. To exact the colleges we need a lot of other information like post MBA goals, your GMAT score, your extra curricular, your post MBA preference of work location. Well I'll elaborate my profile.

I've not taken GMAT yet. Giving on 29th of this month. But in all the mock tests I'm getting around 700. And I hope to receive the same or even better at final GMAT exam.

Extra-curricular activities:
Had been Vice-President at IEEE student chapter at college level.
Had organized various technical symposiums at college level.
I have been affiliated with a NGO working particularly with Blood Donation activity.

Future Plans:
I want to get affiliated with the banking sector only. And to fulfill that dream, I don't mind working anywhere.

Hi Mitul,

A gmat score above 700 is advisable if you aim for top schools. These top school ranking is available online. Since you are building your profile we thought to advise you in areas that you should eb focusing on now. In general most of the Indian applicants who apply for mba abroad are from engineering background with a good 4-5 years of work experience. So you would need to differentiate yourself from others. Start thinking what makes you unique and what's that 'hook' that will be key to your application. Make sure you follow the 'show rather than tell' principle so that the admissions committee could really understand your strengths and differentiating factors Although it is not just the work experience that counts but also what you did there like-what were your achievements, what initiative you took, what changes you drove in your workplace etc. So you need to ensure that in your years of work experience you have demonstrated the skills business schools are looking for. This could still put in a strong set of essays for you.

GMAT above 700 is good.

The hard part will be distinguishing yourself from the other thousand IT guys who also apply. You should therefore focus your story about your love for finance. Discuss not only what makes you a great IT guy, but on what makes you a different IT guy. To this end, any experiences where you demonstrated leadership and truly made a difference in the outcome of a project will help a great deal.

At second, choose your colleges wisely.

Apply in good number of colleges(8 is good).
