Well certainly it is open ended but be careful not to go too long as that would not reflect strongly either. I'd say as long as it needs to be to make your key points but no one in adcom is looking to read a novel for these given how many they have to review so just keep that in mind also! I'm curious on this topic- who has been successful with an essay on this one?
