Although it claims to delve into political issues, television can be superficial such as when each of the three major networks broadcast exactly the same statement from a political candidate.

(A) superficial such as when each of the three major networks
(B) superficial, as can sometimes occur if all of the three major networks
(C) superficial if the three major networks all
(D) superficial whenever each of the three major networks
(E) superficial, as when the three major networks each

Both A and E looks correct to me. However my instinct went with E. Can somebody please help ?

Thanks !

Let me explain you with a very Easy approach....

Although it claims to delve into political issues, television can be superficial such as when each of the three major networks broadcast exactly the same statement from a political candidate.
As Broadcast is plural verb, so the respective subject must be plural.

Both A and E looks correct to me. However my instinct went with E. Can somebody please help ?
Check the subject for option A -> Singular .... Why?
each of the three major networks is Singular

A is OUT

Rule : Each when used as subject is always singular.

when the three major networks each -> Plural because each is rather used as object and the Subject three major networks is Plural.

Pick E!
