I am a new "member" of beat the gmat and this is my first post. The past several days, I have read several of the topics and discussions that are on this forum and would like to thank everyone for posting their thoughts/opinions, study strategies, flashcards, notes, etc. etc. etc. I am looking to take the GMAT in March, and I am just starting to study for this test.

With that being said, I am trying to develop the best strategy for tackling the GMAT. I started studying about a week ago using the PR "Cracking the GMAT". It seems that every person has their own opinions on how to study, but these are the books/materials I was thinking of using:

Princeton Review
Manhattan GMAT book
Official Guide (800 question one)
Official Guide Verbal Review
Official Guide Quan. Review
Kaplan book

My plan is to study for three months by myself, being sure to work as many problems that I can, then, analyze each answer to make sure I know why I got it right/missed it (and obviously taking several CATs along the way.) If I am still not receiving the scores that I want, I was thinking of taking the Veritas Prep class in January.

For all of those that have taken the GMAT and done well, what do you recommend that I do? Does this seem like a good strategy to you? Also, what books had the best strategies per section? (For example, is PR best for CR, Kaplan for DS?) I know practicing over and over and over again will ultimately give me the score I want (650+).
