Dear all,

I took the GMAT test a few months ago and scored 620. My primary weakness is the quantitative section. At that time, I used Kaplan materials to study for the test.

Now I plan to purchase the Official Guide by GMAC. Since my main weakness is the quant section, I am thinking of buying the OG Quantitivative book, in addition to the main OG book. Has anyone done this before, i.e. do you recommend buying the quantitative book as well? Or is this book simply a copy of the math section of the main OG?

Any feedback and suggestions would be very welcome.

What do you mean? Do you recommend MGMAT for quant review?

I was referring to the Official Guide by GMAC (OG) and the Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review, also by GMAC. A new edition (2nd) is out this year.

Jep the MGAT math books, I think they explain the theory well.

Get MGMAT Quantitative books! They're GRREAAAT! (Tony the Tiger quote unintentional). They helped me a lot in solving problems quickly for quant. Their number properties book is second to none. I wouldn't recommend using OG to study math because some of their methods/explanations suck.

Wait a second, you didn't study with OG at all? That's your problem! Buy OG/Quant Review. Use MGMAT quant books to build skillset. Use OG quant problems to practice your MGMAT techniques.

Then, I gather that there is little to no repetition in quant problems between the Main OG book and the OG Quant Review book? Am I correct?
